What Happened
A 35-year-old man was shot in both ankles near 171 North Broadway in Yonkers at approximately 2:30 a.m. Friday, August 28, 2026, according to News 12 Long Island. Officers responded after 911 calls reporting a shooting. The victim was transported to a local hospital. Authorities said his injuries are not life-threatening and he is in stable condition.
When News 12 crews arrived at the scene around 9 a.m., a section of North Broadway remained taped off. Investigators were searching through bushes outside the property at 175 North Broadway, roughly 200 feet from the initial response address, as they processed the scene, News 12 reported.
After police removed the crime-scene tape, blood and several empty alcohol containers were visible on the nearby sidewalk. Detectives from multiple units were working the case as of the 8:19 a.m. report filed by News 12 correspondent Lauren Del Valle. Authorities had not released a motive or any information about a suspect.
