What Happened
A 40-year-old Hewlett resident died last Friday after her SUV crashed through a backyard fence and into the family’s swimming pool at her Hewlett home, according to JFeed. Nassau County police are investigating. She was a mathematics coordinator at the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway and the mother of four children.
Police investigators believe she suffered a sudden medical emergency while driving in her yard, causing her to lose control of the vehicle, the New York Post reported, as cited by JFeed. The funeral was held at Boulevard-Riverside Chapel in Hewlett on Sunday and drew large crowds from across the Five Towns area. Her husband delivered a eulogy in which he recited Eshet Chayil at her grave, per the New York Post as cited by JFeed. He told mourners he regretted not reciting those words at their wedding, and recalled their early married life together — describing how she believed in him and pushed him forward. He promised mourners he would continue raising their four children. Her mother also eulogized her daughter, saying the family is shattered and will never be the same.
