A 75-year-old man of Stony Brook was found unresponsive in the backyard pool of his home at 15 Malverne Lane on Saturday evening, August 8, 2026, and later died from drowning, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
A family member placed a 911 call reporting that the man had been discovered unresponsive in the pool at approximately 7:45 p.m. Officers from the Sixth Precinct responded to the residence along with members of the Stony Brook Fire Department.
