What Happened
A Huntington-area woman died Thursday, July 23, 2026, after being pulled unresponsive from a residential swimming pool at 15 Rodsfield Court in Huntington, according to an official press release from the Suffolk County Police Department.
Officers from the Second Precinct responded to the Rodsfield Court address after a 911 caller — identified as a family member — reported finding the woman unresponsive in the pool. That same family member had already pulled her from the water before emergency services arrived. According to the Suffolk County Police Department, responding officers immediately began administering CPR and continued until Commack Fire Department Ambulance personnel arrived and assumed emergency medical care.
Despite those efforts, the woman did not survive. The Suffolk County Police Department confirmed that Homicide Squad detectives have taken over the investigation.
